BeskrivelseMural and glass paintings Physics building at the University of Oslo.jpg
English: Mural and glass paintings on the eastern wall in the central Physics building at the University of Oslo Blindern campus.
These mural paintings were made by Per Lasson Krohg (1889-1965) and finished in 1938. On this wall he focused on our Sun and the planets, surrounding them with star galaxies in the shape of a woman and a man. Northern lights are also central in the painting, not so strange since northern lights was also central theme at the University in the first decades of the 20th century, when Professor Kristian Birkeland (1867-1917) first proposed the electrical mechanism behind this eerie, atmospheric phenomenon.
